Land Conservation

The Rappahannock River Roundtable (Roundtable) convenes a Land Conservation Workgroup to provide a forum for conservation partners and accredited land trusts to convene and advance regional priorities related to land conservation, public access, and habitat connectivity. This group meets virtually as needed.

Review Committee Members:

Bryn Sonnett – Piedmont Environmental Council
Elizabeth Mizell – Shenandoah National Park Trust
Lisa Biever – Northern Neck Land Conservancy
Laura Hassel – Northern Virginia Conservation Trust
Andy Lacatell – Saltwater Consulting RVA

Funding assistance is now available through the Rappahannock River Roundtable Conservation Easement Support Fund to help land trusts and landowners advance conservation easements. The fund provides financial support to address project challenges or genuine financial hardship that may otherwise prevent a conservation easement transaction from moving forward. A total of $110,000 is available through this funding opportunity. The Application deadline is June 15, 2026.
